Moving the Web site

The Heroes of Legend will be moving to a new Web site in three weeks.  The "new" Web site is still on GuildPortal  so you will not need to create a new account. You simply need to head to the new site and "apply" for membership.

The difference between this site and the new site is that the new site is free hosting...the contract and cost for this site is up at the end of 2011.

In the meantime, please update your bookmarks, register at the "new" site, and drag posts or other information into the new site as you want.

First Dungeon Night

Very pleased that everyone who said they could come last night was able to make our first every Dungeon Night.  Some of us got to dust off new roles, and others dusted off old roles they wished they'd left behind.  While we didn't make it through as much content as we wished, it was a lot of fun hanging out together and just being Heroes.  Thanks to everyone for coming and I'm hopeful that participation will increase over time as schedules permit.  Remember that Dungeon Nights are now every Monday and Tuesday at 8:30pm server time.

At the end of July 2009, I asked Zyx (Maelstrøm) to relieve me as the Guild Leader of the Heroes of Legend. In those 21 months, Zyx did an excellent job leading us. Leading us through Ulduar, Trial of the Crusader, and Icecrown Citadel, Zyx never hesitated to lead when leading needed to be done. He did a great job shepherding us through the Cataclysm launch and redefine the structure of the guild to meet our needs. He was always concerned about the people more than anything and we're both lucky and and thankful for his efforts.

Unfortunately for us, Guild Leader (or any other guild leadership position) isn't a paying gig and it takes its toll on those who serve. I will be returning to the Guild Leader chair to allow Zyx more time to spend having fun instead of leading. I'm excited about this opportunity, if only to ensure I am the longest serving Guild Leader in Heroes of Legend...my last run was 18 months.

That said, there is going to be some very significant changes in the guild goals and the way we achieveme them. I intend to do a thorough scrub of our roster to bring it in line with these goals and will probably hurt some feelings along the way. I apologize in advance but know that it isn't personal. This is a guild with limited leadership resources and we want them focusing positively on achieving our goals and nothing else. If you find yourself no longer in the guild or have access to the Web site, you can assume it was intentional.  Feel free to drop me an in-game mail if you have any questions.

...tastes like change...good thing we didn't step in it?  Yeah, good thing.
